Member for South Metropolitan Region, the Hon. Nick Goiran congratulated Colin Barnett and the State Government for supporting families with the launch of ‘Support for Mum when Dad works away’.
‘Support for Mum when Dad works away’ is a comprehensive and practical guide when one parent is frequently absent due to work commitments.
The Hon. Nick Goiran stated “Families face many challenges when one parent, often the father, is absent from home working in the mining, transport, defence or sporting industries.”
“Our State Government initiative to support and cultivate family life is pleasing to see and facilitates building strong, vibrant communities throughout Western Australia” the Hon. Nick Goiran said.
‘Support for Mum when Dad works away’ contains practical information for mothers, such as tips for self-care, and lists contact details for support resources and facilities. The booklet also provides advice on how men and women can manage their relationship and their role together as parents.
