Hon Nick Goiran MLC said “Residents of the South Metropolitan Region can report their motor vehicle crashes through an online reporting facility. This ‘onestop’ centralised government facility will cater for the users of both personal injury and property damage crash data. This is a great new service which reduces duplication of effort and will result in considerable efficiency and improvements in customer service as well as financial savings for all agencies involved.”
Significant benefits of online crash reporting facility include:
- A 24 Hour/ 7 day a week facility available for the public to report their motor vehicle crash without the inconvenience of attending a police station;
- The ability for the crash reporter to immediately receive a copy of the report and references for insurance purposes;
- A link to the Department of Transport to verify data in real time and;
- Metro View (Street mapping application) and Google Earth for precise mapping and street speed zones for investigators and statistical purposes.
The Internet web address for the Online Crash Reporting Facility is www.crashreport.com.au
Member for the South Metropolitan Region, Hon Nick Goiran MLC said “This is just another example of the common sense approach by Colin Barnett and the State Government to finding savings where possible and provide an easy to use service.”
