Although not within in my electorate Parkerville Children and Youth Care (PCYC) is an organisation that falls within my Child Protection Shadow Portfolio area. I recently had the opportunity to visit PCYC located in the Perth hills.

I was given a tour of the grounds which are home to a number of their group foster homes, the Education and Employment Program along with administration staff and case workers. PCYC protects and cares for the most vulnerable children and youth through out of home care with many of them having suffered chronic histories of multiple abuse and a range of trauma-related behaviour. It was great to be able to see the work of this organisation first hand.
