National Child Protection Week 2017

It was great to attend the 2017 Child Protection Week Breakfast hosted by the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth. Over 200 people attended the breakfast which featured the students from Years 7 – 9 in the John XXIII College Treble Choir, the launch by Safeguarding Director Andrea Musulin of the resource Protecting Gods Children – A Catholic Parents Guide to Keeping their Children Safe.

One of the stands outs from the morning was a presentation by Year one students from St Helena’s Catholic Primary School of some of the lessons they had been taught to help them identify safe and unsafe people. It was a privilege to be a part of morning and to witness the great work that the Safeguarding Office does here in Western Australia.
