I’ve proudly served as your representative in the Western Australian Legislative Council since 2009 — and I’ve never been more determined to stand up for the people of our great state. 

In this 42nd Parliament, my focus is clear.

I will be asking the questions that need to be asked so that we can see a return to responsible government. That means fighting for:

  • the rule of law applying to government as well as to the people;

  • fundamental freedoms being protected rather than eroded;

  • support for the most vulnerable in our community;

  • facilitating families to flourish instead of floundering in inter-generational trauma; and 

  • protecting personal privacy. 

Together we can achieve so much more than just accepting the sub-standard that has become the norm. There is a better way.

Five things I will never stop talking about:

  • No-one is above the law - it should be applied equally and fairly to all people.

    Just laws should be made in an open and transparent way.

    Since 2017, the WA Labor Government has consistently circumvented parliamentary law, transparency law, privacy law and misconduct law.

    This is reprehensible.

    A return to responsible government begins with fairness and maintaining the rule of law.

  • Many West Aussies who have gone before us, sacrificed all to protect our freedoms.

    Our freedoms of association, conscience, religion and speech, have all suffered sustained attacks from the WA Labor Government.

    A return to responsible government would see a community of individuals encouraged to enjoy their freedoms responsibly.

  • Everyday injustice happens. Relying on someone to sort it out is not enough.

    We must be there for others, protecting their rights, when they cannot.

    I have long spoken out against elder abuse, babies being born and left to die with no medical care, children being neglected, and victims of sexual abuse being forced to face their attackers at school and at home.

    A return to responsible government would be measured by our treatment of our most vulnerable.

  • Families face constant challenges. Cost of living increases, housing challenges and to date, the WA Labor Government have never prioritised 'family friendly' policies to support families.

    A return to responsible government would recognise the primary role the family has in facilitating individuals to flourish.

  • Unfortunately, we currently find ourselves in a climate where people think nothing of demanding your private health data, big tech tracks your every move and corporate media publish private conversations. The Auditor General, Human Rights Commissioner and numerous experts have sounded the alarm on the lack of privacy protections.

    A return to responsible government would see people own their data and be empowered to protect it.
