Opposition Bill to end Coronial “Political Roundabout”
The Opposition has introduced legislation to end the uncertainty surrounding the Attorney General’s power to direct a coronial inquest after a coroner has previously declined to hold one.
Shadow Attorney General Nick Goiran introduced the Coroners Amendment (Attorney General Directions) Bill 2026 into the Legislative Council on Thursday 15th October in line with similar legislation in Queensland.
