Is a Voice in the W.A. Constitution on Premier Cook’s Agenda?
On 14 October 2023, over 60% of Aussies voted against changing the Commonwealth Constitution and said that they don’t want to be divided on race.
Despite this, Labor Premiers at the time in South Australia, Victoria, New South Wales and Queensland indicated that they’d be pushing ahead with their own agendas.
In February 2023, Minister Amber-Jade Sanderson and Minister Stephen Dawson said they “certainly” and “absolutely” supported a Voice to the WA Parliament.
That’s why I asked the Premier in Question Time the questions that needed to be asked about this push to change WA’s Constitution.
However, yet again, instead of an accountable and transparent answer to Parliament what was provided was another display of ducking, diving and deflecting.
That’s why I tabled this massive official parliamentary petition calling for the rejection of any legislation seeking to change the Western Australian Constitution to enshrine a ‘Voice’ to WA Parliament.
Join me in calling on Premier Roger Cook to unequivocally rule out changing Western Australia’s Constitution.
